We're supporting a well-established business in the search for an Inventory Planner to join its Supply Chain team. This is a varied role that will suit someone who enjoys working with data, planning stock requirements and collaborating with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure products are available when needed.

You'll play a key role in balancing customer demand with inventory levels, helping to maintain excellent service while keeping stock investment under control.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor inventory levels against forecasts and demand trends.
  • Plan and maintain appropriate stock levels to support customer requirements.
  • Raise purchase orders and production orders to replenish inventory.
  • Work closely with external manufacturing partners and suppliers to ensure materials and finished goods are delivered on time.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers, monitoring performance, costs and availability.
  • Carry out regular inventory reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies.
  • Ensure product, costing and inventory information within the ERP system remains accurate.
  • Maintain product master data, including packaging and product information.
  • Work alongside Sales and Marketing teams to understand upcoming product launches and promotional activity, ensuring these are reflected within inventory plans.
  • Monitor sales forecasts and identify any potential supply risks.
  • Support continuous improvement across supply chain planning processes.

About You

We're keen to speak with candidates who have experience in inventory planning, supply planning, stock control or a similar supply chain role.

You'll also have:

  • Experience working within a manufacturing, distribution or supply chain environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent Excel skills and confidence working with ERP systems.
  • Experience raising purchase orders and coordinating with suppliers.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships across different teams.
  • High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Experience of ERP systems such as JD Edwards, SAP or Oracle would be advantageous, although not essential.

Salary range

  • £30,000 - £35,000
