Our Child and Family Support Team (CFST) provides counselling and therapeutic support to children, young people, and their families – including siblings, parents, grandparents, and carers. We’re looking for qualified volunteer counsellors to join our dedicated team to help increase our reach, making sure everyone can receive the support they need in some of life’s toughest moments. Please note, we cannot accept student counsellors on placement in this role.

Volunteer Counsellor

Martlets, Chestnut Tree House and St Barnabas House have collection tins hosted by a wide variety of businesses across Worthing, Sussex, Brighton and Hove and surrounding areas. Our tins continue to play an important role in raising money and awareness for the hospices so that we can continue to provide specialist care. These tins need to be collected, replaced, and returned to our fundraising offices or shops on a regular basis. With collections expected to be completed on a 6-8 week cycle. We are looking for friendly, reliable people to help us with this important fundraising and community liaison role. You will be the face of the Fundraising team in your locality, representing the hospices when collecting. This is a chance to involve yourself with the community by building a relationship with our collection tin hosts and keeping them up to date with any news from us. This is the perfect opportunity for anyone looking for a flexible volunteering role to fit around other commitments. We can discuss potential rounds based on where you live and an appropriate distance to travel.

Volunteer Collection Box Coordinator

In 2019 we took over plot 98 at the Weald Allotments in Hove. It is now a safe space for therapeutic group bereavement support, where grief and loss can be shared with compassion and understanding. We are looking for volunteers to help maintain this small community garden/allotment, where we will cultivate a variety of fruits, herbs and flowers.

Volunteer Community Garden Assistant

We’re looking for a Volunteer Facilities Assistant to help us maintain high standards of safety and compliance across our hospice. In this role, you’ll support our Health, Safety, and Facilities Team by carrying out regular checks on our buildings, equipment, and fleet vehicles. From monitoring fire extinguishers and water temperatures to inspecting first aid kits and ladders, your efforts will directly contribute to the safety and wellbeing of our patients, visitors, staff, and volunteers.

Volunteer Facilities Assistant

Can you spare some time and join us at pamper days in the community or at the house? You can make a real difference by offering your professional service as a volunteer. Our mission is to reach more people who could benefit from hospice care and its community of volunteers and staff. We need passionate volunteers to help us by providing alternative therapies such as massage therapy, manicures, and meditation. This is a flexible role which you can fit around a busy life.

Volunteer Complementary Therapist

Our hospice café is more than just a place to grab a drink — it’s a warm, friendly space where people can take a moment to relax, reflect, or connect. We’re looking for volunteers to join our team and help run our café throughout the week, 10am-2pm. As part of the team, you’ll serve a range of hot and cold refreshments and offer a warm welcome to everyone who comes through our doors — from patients and families to staff and members of the local community.
