Relief Duty Officer

Marks Consulting Partners are currently recruiting for a Relief Duty Officer to work with one of our local authority clients in Sussex.

This is a temporary position paying £30 per hour.

What you will be doing:

  • Seeking to prevent homelessness arising wherever possible by working with people at risk, ensuring timely advice and assistance
  • Discharging the council's statutory duties and responsibilities for homeless persons in accordance with the provisions set out in the 1996 Housing Act
  • Fully investigating formal homelessness applications
  • Making complex legal decisions regarding the council's duties to applicants

What you will need:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Housing Options Officer
  • Previous experience of Home Connections/HOPE
  • A strong working knowledge of homelessness law and policy
