Learning Support Assistants Needed - West Sussex Primary Schools

Are you an experienced Learning Support Assistant looking for regular, rewarding work within fast-paced primary school settings? We are currently recruiting skilled and reliable Learning Support Assistants to support our partner schools across West Sussex.

Requirements:

  • Experience working in a school setting is essential
  • DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Ability to adapt quickly within a busy, fast-paced primary environment
  • A proactive, patient, and supportive approach to working with children

Day-to-Day Responsibilities of a Learning Support Assistant:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you may be expected to:

  • Support the class teacher with daily classroom activities
  • Work with pupils 1:1 or in small groups to reinforce learning
  • Assist with behaviour management and ensure a positive learning environment
  • Prepare learning materials and resources as directed by the teacher
  • Support children with additional needs, providing individualised assistance
  • Help with classroom organisation, displays, and tidying
  • Supervise pupils during breaks, transitions, or off-site activities
  • Provide pastoral support to pupils and help encourage positive social skills
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and uphold school policies at all times
