Overall Purpose of the Role: 

To provide confidential administrative support to the HR Manager and HR Team in all aspects of the HR function and employee life cycle.

To arrange, record and evaluate the external training activities to support staff development and progression  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Arrange and record the external training requirements utilising funding where available
  • Arrange and record mandatory Health and Safety Training
  • Evaluate effectiveness of training activities
  • Develop productive working relationships with external providers
  • Assist with the recruitment process including setting up of interviews
  • Maintain and update the Time and Attendance database.  Monitor attendance of employees and provide reports as required
  • Preparation and process of monthly payroll
  • Preparation of annual holidays cards
  • Process contractual changes
  • Process starter/leaver information
  • Maintain and update of employee personnel records using HR personnel database
  • Preparation of contracts of employment, offer letters and other contractual paperwork
  • To provide general administrative support to the HR Team, as required including:
  • Arrangement of inductions for new starters
  • Preparation of new starter induction packs
  • Preparation of personnel files for new starters
  • Filing
  • General correspondence
  • Typing of meeting notes
  • Participate in HR projects
  • Attendance at Group HR meetings as required

Qualifications:

Essential

  • Maths and English at GCSE or equivalent
  • MS Office proficiency

Desirable

  • Certificate in HR practice
  • Previous work within HR
  • General administration experience including employment documentation (e.g contracts)

  • Working with HR databases
  • Payroll data input
  • Arrangement of external training courses
  • Evaluation of training activities

Knowledge:

Essential

  • HR Employment Law

Desirable

  • HR Policies/Procedures
  • Knowledge of Investors in People (IiP)

Skills and Abilities:

  • Basic knowledge of processes in employee life cycle (from recruitment to exit from business)
  • Excellent literacy/numeracy skills
