Position:                      Resources Coordinator

Reports to:                  Operations Manager

Location:                     Manor Royal, Crawley

 

Purpose of role

The Resource Coordinator will work within a team to ensure the most efficient and cost effective use of Presteigne’s assets across all company commitments.  He/she is responsible for placing owned equipment in the most profitable way whilst infilling gaps in available equipment with hired in equipment with the lowest impact on profit. The Coordinator will maintain a constant view of the company’s demands on equipment adjusting placement of assets and hired in equipment as appropriate.

Key responsibilities

  • Work closely with the sales team and account managers to respond quickly and accurately to customer demands
  • Identify and position company owned equipment on the most profitable and/or lengthy contracts.
  • Source hired in equipment for various contracts when a shortfall is identified, taking profitability into account and ensuring that required equipment is available at the right time
  • Develop and maintain a supplier database ensuring that there is a clear view of a range of potential sources of supply and respective costs
  • Negotiate with suppliers for absolute best prices and terms.
  • Raise purchase orders, in accordance with company policy, and issuing to suppliers
  • Develop and maintain an awareness of all contracts using Presteigne’s order management system to identify shortfalls and/or opportunities to position kit to maximise returns
  • Assist the operations manager in providing timely and accurate asset utilisation reports by producing physical and financial asset utilisation reports.
  • Support the sales team and account managers by answering telephone calls during periods of peak demand.

Person specification

  • Experience of working in a coordination or procurement role, preferably within in a fast-paced sales environment 
  • Must have good financial awareness.
  • Well organised with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Highly motivated and ability to work under pressure
  • Strong negotiating skills.
  • Good written, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good English and numeracy essential
  • Good telephone manner
  • Experience of working as part of a team and independently
  • IT literate in Word, Excel, MS Outlook and search engines
  • Experience of using a computer based purchasing system would be useful but not essential as full training will be given
