In a Word

Deliver excellence across the entire design process, from understanding current user interactions and frustrations, developing solutions and then turning them into beautiful, intuitive and functional user interfaces.

Thriving on variety, this role will see working on a variety of design challenges, including enhancing an existing feature or designing a killer new feature – there will always be something to sink your teeth into.

An advocate for customer journey, the UX-UI Designer works with colleagues to demonstrate the value of good design to meet customer needs and contribute to the growth and development of the organisation.

Practically Speaking

Reporting to the UX Manager, you’ll be responsible for;

Discovery:

Ideation:

  • Create and showcase concepts that challenge your colleagues, giving you the opportunity to influence and educate.
  • Design and develop journey maps and IA.
  • Produce lo-fi wireframes to showcase the proposed journey and interaction design.

Design:

Validation:

  • Iterate designs based on user testing feedback or other MI.
  • Optimise our online experience by making continuous, incremental improvements, keeping the website aligned with emerging UI/UX trends and standards.

  • Educated to A level or equivalent
  • Deep understanding of UI/UX design theory, and principles of user-centred interaction design for the web.
  • Excellent skills with design and prototyping software (e.g. Adobe CS, Axure, Invision, Balsamic etc).
  • Able to maximise the usability and efficiency of user interfaces.
  • Proven ability to refine designs based on feedback.
  • Demonstrable experience of responsive design and delivering good UX across different devices.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects at the same time.
  • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS including creating responsive designs.
  • Good understanding of cross-platform and cross-browser issues
  • Portfolio demonstrating expert use of typography, colour, imagery, grid systems, user flows, interaction design.
  • Sympathetic to brand, and able to follow brand guidelines.
