Electronics Design Engineer

Volution Ventilation is looking for an experienced Electronics Design Engineer to join their Crawley team.

The main purpose of this role is to provide a versatile electronic embedded control system and to be able to design and resource new products that meet the required specification including cost, within the agreed timescale and project costs.

Main Duties

• To design from marketing brief through to implementation - inventive, innovative, manageable and cost-effective solutions ventilation equipment i.e. fans and heat recovery products.
• Detailed understanding and development of microcontroller/ microprocessor based circuits with a fluent focus on Power Electronics and working knowledge of electronics manufacturing.
• Primary focus is embedded Control systems to control variable speed motors.
• Review product requirements; create technical specifications as well as system testing requirements.
• Design knowledge of power electronics including Analog & Digital components, design & test, optimize skills and methodology.
• Update and maintain detailed schematics for internally sourced products in a manufacturing environment.
• Perform component obsolescence analysis for product longevity 
• Work closely with design teams for agency certifications like FCC/CE/UL, etc. 
• To assemble physical prototypes of designs in the Crawley laboratory or the Dudley Factory.
• To keep aware of developments in relevant disciplines such as CAD related software and hardware. Undergoing further CAD training as required
• To carry out any other reasonable tasks as requested. To travel to customers and suppliers as required, including internationally on occasion.
• Follow internal hardware and manufacturing development processes and contribute to process improvements
• Ability to communicate concepts, unit and system level hardware design, design validation test results and progress of projects to core team and leadership

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per year
