Description Head of TMA

Responsible to optimize the flow of value from the value stream (product) to the customer by

maximizing the value creation of the whole value stream through leadership of the assigned resources.

Responsible for overseeing the execution of major programs or projects associated to the value stream globally. Be part of the extended Business Line Management team for participation in Project and Innovation reviews. Reports dotted line to the President of the BL

1)Strategy, Planning & Execution

﹒To lead and contribute to the strategic planning and execution of activities associated to Value Stream, working with Product Management to achieve business goals and prioritizing of initiatives. The value stream starts at the point when the potential customer value is identified (agreed) and finishes when the customer receives the value. From G1 to G5 and post G5 ongoing product maintenance e.g. New feature / functionality Product maintenance Quality and cost down

Working with the functions across the business for value stream  (PLM, SCM, CRM) ensuring they are aligned and working to ensure that all relevant  targets and objectives of the programme are met. Working solutions are the primary measure of progress.  

Participate as a member of the engineering management team in establishing governance processes of direction and control to ensure that objectives are achieved, risks are managed appropriately, and the organization resources are used responsibly.

Create forward looking plan in regards to needed resources

2) Implementation & Deployment

Ensure that projects and developments are made according to Elekta R&D processes and  methodologies as per Elekta quality system .

﹒Maintain a culture of continuous improvement.

﹒Review and approve proposed development releases and manage the release process aligned with Project Management.

3) Operational Management

﹒Operationally to manage the engineering resources that have been assigned to the value stream in relation to delivery of the program. Ensure that technology standards and best practices are maintained across the R&D organization.

﹒Ensure collaboration  and effective working with other Engineering centres and problems are resolved in a timely and cost-effectively.

﹒Develop, track, and control the budgets for the programmes and projects within the value stream.

﹒Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, emerging technologies and Medical Device development best practices.

Relevant Knowledge, skills and competencies

Formal Education & Certification

﹒University degree in the field of Medical Device, Engineering or Computer or Nat. Science.

Strong background in SW Program & project management and a least ten years experience is required for this role within SW Program management.

﹒Possess proven full life-cycle experience in complex technology research and product development.

﹒Must have 10+years of leadership experience, best in R&D near activities.

﹒Lead and manage the time-to-market of products and speed up response time to market demands.

﹒Must possess diverse leadership skills, be cultural aware and have a solid understanding of international business and industry trends in Medical Device Industries.

﹒Successfully lead and manage other high potential leaders (Senior Managers and experts) and associated staff and engineers.

﹒Excellent project management skills: capable of ensuring multiple projects stay on-track and are delivered under budget, including internal resource planning and scheduling.

﹒Excellent understanding and execution of lean and agile principles

﹒Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to communicate effectively with executive management, non-engineers and engineers.

﹒Possess the leadership and management skills to bring structure, discipline and process to a R&D environment, while retaining the ability to work in a changing environment.

﹒5 + years in any R&D Director Position.

﹒Demonstrated ability to develop Medical device that meet consumer needs or solve business problems.

﹒Familiar with hardware & software development methodology and processes.

﹒Ability to discern user requirements and develop specifications.

﹒Exposure to business theory, business process development, governance processes, management, budgeting, and administrative operations.
