Brief Description

As a Fire Alarm Service Engineer, you will use your technical ability to ensure that you deliver a quality service to our customers whilst having safety and protection for life and property at the heart of everything you do. Your main duties will include:

  • Servicing, maintaining, and installing fire alarm systems (BS5839-1) and emergency lighting system in accordance with the relevant British Standards.
  • Working to a schedule of planned jobs daily (daily dockets listed on an i-Pad provided by A1)
  • Completing engineer service reports.
  • Reporting deficiencies or deviations in systems.
  • Liaising with customers confidently and concisely.
  • Reporting on and repairing emergency lighting systems and other associated equipment, such as fire extinguishers, AOV’s etc.
  • Conducting regular van stock checks, ensuring that materials are replenished and appropriately stocked.
  • Working on a call out basis on a 1 in 4 week rota.

What you’ll need

To be successful in this role you will have significant experience as a Fire Alarm servicing and Maintenance Engineer. Ideally, you’ll have detailed knowledge of the principles of BAFE/LPS. As an independent worker who is self-motivated and able to use their own initiative, you will have the ability to work with competence and confidence representing A1 positively and professionally.

You will be provided with a company van and fuel card, so you’ll need to possess a full UK driving licence. You’ll also need strong IT and communication skills and a good understanding of health & safety regulations.
