L3Harris Training Systems play a key role on delivering the L3Harris Commercial Aviation Solutions mantra of ‘Creating Safer Skies’. From our computer based solutions all the way to our state-of-the-art Full Flight Simulators (FFS), improving the training experiencing and creating safer skies is at the heart of everything we do. Our Fixed Training Devices (FTD) and FFS feature aircraft-specific flight decks, offering the form, fit, feel, and function of the actual aircraft.

About the role: As a member of the training systems team, you will manage and control the forecasting, planning and analysis process for Training systems. Provide key metrics and insights to the senior management team to drive business performance. Work closely with the UK and HQ Finance teams to develop reporting and quality of insights.

Day to day responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

 

  • Lead in the preparation and presentation of the Training systems forecast, budget and actuals, working with the UK and US Finance teams to ensure timely and accurate information.
  • Maintain weekly Risks/Opportunities report, challenging key business stakeholders to deliver the actions required to crystalize upside and mitigate downside.
  • Conduct detailed P&L and Balance Sheet analysis to understand actual and forecast performance along with key business drivers. Provide variance analysis for movements, develop industry knowledge and detailed understanding of the business fundamentals to become a key contributor to business performance.
  • Develop and maintain regular KPIs, benchmarking and metrics to produce management information for senior management.
  • Involvement in business cases and new bid proposals. Ensure that financial analysis is robust to facilitate informed business decision making.
  • Partnering with senior management, providing challenge and support in order to meet the operational objectives and financial targets of the business unit.
  • Track business performance of key initiatives. Developing and leading on cost efficiencies, synergies and margin optimization projects.
  • Ad hoc projects, reporting and analysis.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:

  • Part Qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA with experience gained in commercially focused finance roles within large blue chip organizations
  • Ability to handle complexity – experience of building new reporting and data modelling from scratch
  • Gravitas to challenge and support stakeholders of all levels across the business and challenge the status quo
  • Self-starter with ability to work on own initiative
  • Strong communicator that can tailor their approach to the audience and present with impact
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with a strong work ethic
  • Proactive approach – spot issues early and liaise effectively with key stakeholders
  • Innovation, continuous improvement mentality
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
