Head of HR Operations - 12 month Fixed Term Contract

Location: Crawley with flexible/smart working supported

Are you a proactive and highly skilled HR professional looking for a new challenge? Looking for an all-encompassing HR role to drive the people strategy as an enabler for the success growth of the business? Then look no further, we have the role for you.

The primary purpose of this role is to lead the strategic direction & management of the HR Operations function on a 12 month FTC including management of the following departments HRSS, Payroll, Employee Relations, Learning & Development Operations. Each department has its own manager who reports into the Head of HR Operations.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Setting the vision and direction for the HR Operations function, in line with business and HR priorities

  • People Management Responsibilities across all HR Operational departments including team development and driving a high performing function.

  • Managing escalations, from customers/stakeholders and from within the HR Operations team, ensuring timely and reactive responses

  • Country Process Owner for Core HR Processes in Workday. Engaging with Group on tickets (monthly CPO calls), change management working group (monthly). Leading, testing and embedding (with all stakeholders) any changes  

  • HR lead for any personal data breaches (GDPR)

  • Lead weekly HR Ops management team calls

  • Approver for all sensitive report requests/data releases

  • HR Lead on the Security Working Group

  • Monthly HR update pack – collation for whole function and pull together of HR Ops slides

  • Improvement projects – strategic decisions, designs, escalations, support. Ad-hoc projects to support businesses

  • Crisis management i.e. systems down, payroll error etc. including communications required

  • Supplier escalations – i.e. renewals, support with challenges (payroll, HML etc.)

  • Salary review- overall HR Ops lead

  • Reviewer/approver for employee communications

Skills:

Essential

  • Strong leadership skills and strong decision making ability

  • Ability to remain calm and resilient under pressure

  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and methods

  • Able to organise and plan own time with flexibility and ability to prioritise multiple activities

  • Confidential, diplomatic and interpersonal sensitivity

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, ability to influence at all levels including senior leadership

Experience:

Essential

  • Experienced people manager

  • Experience of leading an Operational function

  • Experienced user of Microsoft Office tools
