Internal Communications Manager

We’re currently seeking an impactful Internal Communications Manager to join our Information Systems business domain on a fixed term contract until the end of 2022.  This role can be based in either our Crawley, London, Doncaster or Cheadle offices and has some flexibility to work from home.

  

What the role has to offer:

  • A chance to develop and lead the execution of an innovative and creative comms strategy across a range of IT transformation programmes

  • Shaping major projects, managing senior internal stakeholders and developing and executing successful comms strategies

 

Key responsibilities

On a day-to-day basis, you’ll be:

  • Partnering with our in-house creative team to co-create a vision, identity and key messages for IT initiatives, and oversee the production of creative comms collateral and activities including road shows, videos, and presentations

  • Working with senior stakeholders to develop a strategic approach to managing communications in support of the Technology Transformation Programmes

  • Writing/editing content that brings our story to life including video, internal social campaigns, articles, sites, apps, presentations, events, etc.

  • Managing key channels in support of our communications agenda and pushing the boundaries to deliver communications that are ‘outcome focused’ and bring real value to end users

  • Developing multi-channel approaches to communications and design communications for our diverse and multi-generational employee population

  • Developing a strategic narrative in support of transformation programmes to drive consistent and compelling story telling across the organisation

  • Taking ownership of the design of the IT intranet pages and portal

 

About you

Ideally, you’ll:

  • Be a highly competent, creative and innovative internal communications professional – experience working within the Defence or IT industry is desirable though not essential

  • Have proven experience of crafting multi-channel communications programmes within the change/transformation context

  • Have experience in initial discovery work to create comms strategies via stakeholder analysis and channel mapping

  • Be energetic, creative, hard-working, resilient, enthusiastic, resourceful, focused, and innovative

  • Have excellent copywriting skills and be a proficient user of Microsoft programmes, and specialist creative software (e.g. Adobe Captivate)

  • Possess excellent stakeholder management skills, including influencing and negotiating skills
