About us
Care for the Careres has been supporting unpaid carers in East Sussex Since 1989
Volunteering with us
At Care for the Carers many of our services supporting carers depend on the time and commitment of our volunteers. As a volunteer you’ll receive training specific to your role, have access to support from staff and have a dedicated Volunteer Coordinator, who is there to support volunteers from the first contact with us to everything else thereafter. When you get in touch, our Volunteer Coordinator can have a chat with you about your skills and interests, so we can identify the right role for you.
What we offer
Volunteering with Care for the Carers means you are part of a big team! We work in a collaborative way with our volunteers, seeking feedback and offering regular opportunities for 1:1s. We hold an annual celebration event to thank all our volunteers and seek other opportunities to bring volunteers together to share best practice and have a get together.
Why volunteer?
Volunteering is a rewarding way to make a difference to carers’ lives, as well as doing something that you enjoy. Feedback from volunteers about the benefits of volunteering include:
- You can meet new people
- It's very rewarding
- You will learn new skills as well as use the skills that you have
- You will be giving something back to your local community
- You will be helping to improve the lives of carers
- We will provide you with the training you need for your role
