About us
We are a Local Authority Trading Company - one of the first in the Country. We began trading in March 2011, and are 100% owned by the London Borough of Croydon. It was important to Croydon Council that people can choose Local Authority sponsored services.
Our purpose is to provide good value, high quality services for local residents, to act as a test bed for new ways of working, to support innovation whilst keeping people safe. Most importantly we want to work with people. Getting the right support should not be combative, we want to work together with clients and carers to design and deliver the kind of support that is right for them, maximising their independence and confidence.
Our purpose is also to work with other Local Authorities, health organisations and voluntary organisations where we can form partnerships that add value and make sense to people who need support.
The savings we have delivered to Partner Local Authorities through our innovative service delivery model - thanks to Croydon Equipment Services being the only Integrated Procurement Hub designated by the Department of Health - makes us unique and gives us a national profile.
The primary mission of the Local Authority Trading Company is to provide high value services at a reasonable cost - we are not driven by achieving greater profits. We are driven by providing a public service and it is critical to us that the Council gets as much value as possible for every penny it spends.
