About us

The Lifesaving club meets every Thursday 8 - 10 pm at the King Alfred Leisure Centre Hove. They are a club affiliated with the Royal Lifesaving Society who are the drowning prevention society in the UK. The club provides you with the training for all aspects of Life Saving, which includes resuscitation skills and basic first aid. We also run training sessions in the sea during the Summer months, so there is the opportunity to try skills you have learnt in an open water environment. Once you have achieved your qualification, you may wish to join our competition team. There is a chance to enter Life Saving competitions at both Club. Branch and National levels. You may also become a Trainer/Assessor for Life Saving. Our Rookies (age 8 - 13 years) also meet at this time and we welcome any members this age or above to become involved. We have now started on the new 'Survive and Save' programme, introduced by RLSS this year and will be running classes every Thursday, if you enjoy having fun in the water, exercising without being to regimented and want to learn skills that means you are always prepared for the unexpected come and join us.
