About us

Manor Field School has an impressive history lasting over 100 years, with the Victorian buildings now housing the office suite, staff room and resources area. These, and the more recent accommodation are set in stunning grounds with plenty of space for outdoor learning as well as relaxation. The Reception children start their time at Manor Field in a separate building where the classrooms are large, light and airy, the corridors fully carpeted and there are newly re-furbished toilets. Nearby there is a medical room with a full time medical welfare assistant, a hall for PE and assembly, a purpose built children’s kitchen for food technology and a well stocked library leading out to a grassy bank. These classrooms have direct access to several outdoor paved areas which are used extensively to support children’s learning- the largest of which has a gazebo and seating and an imaginative layout to provide an outdoor classroom. The main building has been cleverly designed to maximise all the benefits of a large school and yet retains a small school atmosphere. The classrooms- each with an interactive white board, are arranged in units of five, each unit having a central area which accommodates an up- to-date computer suite. Each unit houses 5 classes, with years 1, 2 and 3 on the lower floors and the older children in years 4, 5 and 6 upstairs. There are cloakrooms and toilets in each area. Other facilities include a large sports hall, music room, netball courts, an extensive field -with two football pitches, a running track and a long jump pit- as well as a generous amount of hard surface. The school is also fortunate in having an environmental garden with two ponds linked by a Monet style bridge, a well cultivated organic garden complete with willow arbour and an orchard. Recent landscaping provides seating and shade for children who prefer quieter activities during play times.
