About us
Offering something to suit every taste, it is only natural that South End should have been officially recognised as Croydon’s Restaurant Quarter. An outstanding range of eating options includes a Michelin-rated restaurant and cuisine from around the globe, served up by chefs with an incredible passion for good food.
But that is far from being all this vibrant part of Croydon has to offer. South End is home to more than 100 shops and businesses in an area that has retained a distinct village atmosphere.
Whether it be newer restaurants such as Malcolm John’s widely acclaimed Fish & Grill, long-serving establishments such as Bagatti’s, which has been serving fine Italian food since 1990, or some of your favourite well-known chains, South End has something for everyone.
A host of other cuisines are also represented including Chinese, French, Greek, Indian, Japanese, Mexican, Persian, Spanish, Thai and, of course, British.
With some bustling bars, including high-end establishments such as Bar Txt, Half & Half and The Treehouse, visitors of all ages travel from miles around to sample some of the delights South End has to offer, and you may even spot a famous face or two among them.
It isn’t just after hours that South End is well worth a visit. Why not take a break at one of its cafes or take a wander around some of the independent businesses which give South Croydon such a strong sense of identity and community spirit?
There are some beautiful buildings in the area and South End offers a throwback to days when family-run stores provided a personal service with a beautiful florist, a high-end jewellery shop, specialist music and sound shops, bike shops, and a host of other unique businesses which are well worth a visit.
