Administration Internship
Varndean School is looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and well organised administrative intern for this academic year. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside senior leaders and our Special Education Needs Coordinator to make sure that we meet our objectives to provide a world-class education as well as fulfilling our legal responsibilities with regard to special educational needs.
The post will be based mostly in our busy and productive special educational needs department which is at the heart of the school, ensuring that education is adapted to meet the needs of the most vulnerable children in the school. As such it will involve a wide variety of administrative responsibilities such as minuting meetings, updating records, drafting plans and reports and managing diaries. Given the demand of some of these tasks the position would suit a recent graduate looking for education based experience or an undergraduate seeking professional work experience as part of their qualification.
The position is offered as a full time term time only role but this is negotiable and is a temporary position finishing at the end of the academic year in July.
37 Hours per week, term time only. Points NJC Grade 4 points to £27254 - £27694 - actual starting salary is £23611.
Varndean is an excellent place to work. Ofsted in 2022 described the “inspirational leaders”, the “expert” teachers, “impressive” pupils and the “exceptionally strong” staff training.
We hope you will want to pursue an application further and you are welcome to make a pre-application visit to the school.
Varndean School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this
