This role takes an office first hybrid approach here at London Gatwick, with three days a week in the office, two days remote, managed around the needs of the business.
What is the role?
The Airspace strategy and noise team focus on the impact of airport noise for our neighbours, as well as helping Gatwick get the most out of the airspace. The purpose of the Airspace Office Analyst is to fulfil the data collection, analysis and reporting requirements for aircraft track keeping, noise monitoring and night jet.
What will you do?
- Responsible for the data collection, analysis and, where appropriate, reporting of the full range of tracking keeping, noise and night jet monitoring requirements.
- Creating reports, briefings, analysis and responses to a range of requests and enquiries - from senior members of the leadership team, GAL stakeholders and external stakeholders such as the DfT or CAA - concerning aircraft noise and tracking.
- Manage the Noise and Track Keeping system, ensuring that data and information integrity is maintained to the required standards.
- Act as the point of contact for arranging and co-ordinating documents for regular stakeholder committee meetings, to ensure meeting take place efficiently and followed up actions are captured. Minute taking may also be required.
- Assisting the Airspace Office administrator with handling complaints during peak times for complaints.
Do you have what we're looking for?
- Degree-level qualification is desirable, ideally in a related subject matter or equivalent aviation related experience.
- Exceptional knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel and PowerBI would be beneficial,
- Experience of airspace, air traffic control, airport and/or aircraft operations highly desirable.
- Knowledge of sustainability and environmental management relevant to aviation and aircraft noise.
- Understanding of current and future legislation, statutory requirements, regulation and good practice relating to aviation's noise impacts.
- High level of computer skills especially in mapping software tools, modelling software, Microsoft Office.
- Practised in writing a range of material including, for example: detailed formal reports, formal letter writing and responses to requests for information.
- Skilled in interrogating data and reports and setting out compelling, evidence-based arguments.
- Experience of collaborative working across and outside a business and with multi-disciplinary government/regulator/industry teams (and preferably with local stakeholders).
- Accomplished at providing high quality customer service, occasionally in demanding situations.
