Bike Dispatch Manager Job Description

The Bike Dispatch Manager is responsible for leading and developing the dispatch team while overseeing the bike build and delivery operation. This role plays a key part in making sure high-quality bikes are built and delivered efficiently, consistently, and in line with customer expectations and business targets.

This is a hands-on leadership role that combines strong people management with a practical, organised approach to running the department day to day

Reporting to the Head of Warehouse & Distribution

What you’ll be doing

Operational & Performance Management

  • Plan and manage weekly build targets, ensuring performance and output align with sales requirements.
  • Monitor performance against KPIs, addressing any shortfalls and driving continuous improvement.
  • Maintain service level agreements and ensure consistent, high-quality output.
  • Organise workflow and build priorities to meet deadlines and customer commitments.
  • Work closely with the Head of Warehouse & Distribution to improve processes and department efficiency.

Dispatch, Delivery & Systems

  • Organise the build queue, ensuring orders match invoices and remain current.
  • Close orders and generate postage labels using Citrus Lime.
  • Manage consignment and packing of orders for collection.
  • Oversee courier relationships, including daily volumes, forecasting and performance.
  • Manage personal deliveries using Optimo Route.
  • Work with Support and Central Workshop teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Handle bike returns, inspections and refunds in liaison with Support.
  • Ensure appropriate PPE, tooling and supplies are available at all times.
  • Maintain provision supplies and complete monthly reporting.

People Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, motivate and develop the dispatch team to achieve performance targets and high standards of work.
  • Manage rotas, holiday approval, performance reviews and appraisals.
  • Support training and development across the team, ensuring skills and capability continue to grow.
  • Drive a positive team culture with clear expectations, accountability and engagement.
  • Ensure all colleagues work safely, efficiently and in line with company policies and Health & Safety requirements.

Skills required

  • Proven Team management and Leadership experience
  • Commercially focused
  • Great communication skill internally and externally
  • Time management
  • Mechanical/technical experience is desirable but not essential
  • Enthusiasm for bicycles and riding is preferred
  • Confident with IT systems
  • Ability to lift boxes 25kg+
  • Forklift experience preferable

Salary range
