Cover Teacher

Cover Teacher:

Varndean School requires an enthusiastic, committed and outstanding Cover Teacher to start September 2026. This is a permanent full-time position on scale MPS 2 £34,823

The Cover Teachers are a busy and productive team within the school who support our vibrant teams of teaching staff. The successful applicant must have Qualified Teacher Status and would be expected to provide cover supervision for absent staff across all departments, support with duties and uphold teaching standards.

Varndean School is an 11-16 school with around 1500 students, set in a picturesque south coast location in the vibrant and diverse city of Brighton and Hove. Varndean is a Good (Ofsted 2022) and well-established school already, we have made rapid progress over the past couple of years and have no intention of resting on our laurels. The potential here is immense and the successful applicant will play a role in supporting our students to develop World Class Learning. Varndean is an excellent place to work. Ofsted in 2022 described the “inspirational leaders”, the “expert” teachers, “impressive” pupils and the “exceptionally strong” staff training.
