About the role
We are seeking a qualified and proactive Financial Accountant – SG&A to lead financial planning, analysis, and control for Selling, General & Administrative costs. This role is central to maintaining accurate financial data, supporting business decisions, and driving process improvements across our finance function.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes for SG&A, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Manage SG&A journal entries, accruals, and adjustments, including payroll and direct labour accounting.
- Prepare financial statements, reconciliations, and variance analyses to provide meaningful insights into SG&A performance.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning, including scenario analysis for bonus costs.
- Act as a strategic business partner, delivering financial insight and supporting cost efficiency initiatives.
- Oversee review and approval of journal entries and account reconciliations, ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve reporting efficiency.
- Support internal and external audits, providing accurate documentation and applying current accounting standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain effective communication and ensure the integrity of financial data.
What we’re looking for
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, particularly in SG&A, payroll, and cost accounting.
- Advanced analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and partner effectively.
- Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and efficiency.
- Solid understanding of financial controls, compliance, and audit processes.
