About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced and commercially focused General Manager to lead The Perch. This is a senior leadership position suited to a confident operator with a proven background in high-volume, quality-led hospitality.
You will be fully accountable for the performance of the business, leading a large team, driving standards, and delivering outstanding guest experiences while achieving strong financial results - all within a structured 45-hour per week contract.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, inspire, and manage the entire restaurant team, creating a culture of excellence and accountability
- Oversee all day-to-day operations, ensuring seamless service from open to close
- Recruit, train, develop, and retain a high-performing management and front-of-house team
- Manage rotas, payroll, performance reviews, and team development
- Take ownership of financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
- Maintain exceptional standards of food quality, service, cleanliness, and compliance
- Oversee stock control, supplier relationships, ordering, and invoicing
- Act as the face of the restaurant, hosting guests and managing special occasions
- Handle guest feedback professionally, resolving issues quickly and effectively
- Ensure full compliance with health & safety, food hygiene, and licensing regulations
- Proven experience as a General Manager (or senior Deputy ready to step up) in a high-volume restaurant, pub, or premium hospitality venue
- Strong commercial awareness with a track record of meeting financial targets
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills
- Strong food and beverage knowledge, including allergens and dietary requirements
- Confident understanding of wine, beer, cocktails, and coffee
- Food hygiene certification (preferred)
