Role: General Manager
Location: Brighton
Hours: Full time (including evenings and weekends)
Pay: 40,000 - 45,000 per annum

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a General Manager to join one of our longstanding clients, an established and innovative events and entertainment venue, in Brighton.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced venue or events professional to oversee operations, lead a team, and drive the commercial success of a high-profile venue environment.

The Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience managing events, venues, or similar operations
  • At least 3 years' experience leading and managing teams
  • Strong knowledge of venue operations, licensing, and event management
  • Experience managing budgets and commercial performance
  • Confident IT user including Microsoft Office and shared file systems
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail

The Role:

  • Oversee all aspects of venue operations including events, customer experience, safety, and compliance
  • Lead and manage the venue team, ensuring clear communication and collaborative working
  • Drive commercial performance and support new business opportunities
  • Manage contractors and service providers including security, production, welfare, and cleaning teams
  • Monitor event performance and implement improvements to maximise efficiency and customer experience
  • Ensure compliance with licensing, health and safety, and industry regulations
  • Manage budgets and monitor financial performance against forecasts
  • Oversee venue documentation including risk assessments, safety procedures, and operational policies
  • Build relationships with promoters, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure successful event delivery
