What you'll be doing:
As Head of Operational Planning, MI and Insights, you will provide strategic leadership across planning, MI and analytics functions, enabling data-driven decision making within a fast-growing financial services business. Reporting to the Director of Operational Assurance and Enablement and sitting on the Operations Leadership Team, you will shape and deliver operational strategy, ensuring the business has the forecasting, capacity planning, performance management and insight capabilities needed to support customer demand and future growth.
The role will lead the development of a market-leading Operational Intelligence function, with responsibility for operational planning, workforce forecasting, business intelligence, reporting and analytics. A key focus will be driving the transformation of MI and planning capabilities through advanced analytics, automation and AI, delivering a roadmap for predictive forecasting, automated reporting and enhanced operational insight.
- Lead and develop the Operational Planning, Forecasting, MI and Insights functions.
- Develop and deliver a multi-year Operational Intelligence transformation strategy.
- Oversee production of all Operational, COO, Executive, Trustee and Board reporting.
- Drive continuous improvements in reporting standards.
- Develop and deliver a strategic roadmap for use of Artificial Intelligence, automation and advanced analytics in operational data space.
- Identify and implement opportunities to automate manual reporting, forecasting and planning processes.
- Champion Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Copilot and emerging technologies.
- Develop predictive and prescriptive analytical models to support proactive decision making.
- Lead short, medium and long-term operational forecasting and workforce planning.
- Support operational resilience through workforce modelling and resource planning.
- Drive effective utilisation of Verint, Genesys, Power BI and Fabric platforms.
- Lead and develop the operational planning, MI and insights in line with company processes.
- Provide active ongoing insights around our data, to support decision making.
- Implement new ways of working and innovation in the production of MI and business forecasts.
- Engage with other key areas to ensure that the operational impact of activities is accurately assessed and understood and reflected in all plans.
What we’re looking for:
- Leadership experience across Operational Planning, MI, Analytics or Operational Intelligence.
- Proven transformation leadership involving data, automation and AI.
- Advanced Power BI and data visualisation expertise.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Experience within complex operational environments
- Have a thorough knowledge of Contact centre forecasting & MI reporting metrics including the use of Erlang.
- Experience of working in a similar operational planning role with headcount of circa 400.
