Private Client Legal Assistant - Estate & Probate Support

Location: Brighton Hybrid Working: Potential for hybrid working

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Private Client Legal Assistant to provide essential support to Private Client Legal Advisors, with a particular focus on the Estate & Probate team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a specialist, award-winning legal practice renowned for delivering sensitive, high-quality advice to disabled and vulnerable clients.

The Role

In this position, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth progression of estate and probate matters. You will be responsible for preparing accurate, high-quality documents, liaising with clients, and supporting broader team operations as required. This is a client-facing and highly collaborative role, offering exposure across multiple aspects of Private Client work in a supportive, values-led environment.

Key Responsibilities

Working closely with the Estate & Probate Legal Advisor, you will:

  • Liaise with clients in a professional, clear, and empathetic manner.
  • Draft correspondence and legal documents from digitally dictated instructions.
  • Maintain and administer client files, including reviews, file opening, and closures.
  • Communicate with external organisations, including HMRC and the Probate Registry.
  • Assist in processing payments and preparing Estate Accounts.

About You

  • A minimum of one years experience in a Private Client practice, ideally with exposure to estate administration and probate.
  • Highly organised, accurate, and capable of exercising sound judgement.
