Hours: 40 hours per week
Salary: £32,916 - £47,742 (M1 - UPS1)

Aurora Vincent House School
As part of our growth strategy, we are really pleased to have opened a new SEND Secondary School in the heart of Horsham, West Sussex for autistic young people aged 11-16. We are a happy school that values kindness and understanding where everyone feels safe. Most of our students are coming to us from mainstream education to have access to an adapted National Curriculum delivered in small classes with a focus on meeting their sensory needs and support for their emotional wellbeing.
The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic teacher of Mathematics (or subject lead) who will be responsible for the delivery of the Mathematics curriculum to students aged 11-16. This will include GCSE as well as other qualifications as appropriate.
Our students want and deserve a teacher who is patient, fun and wants to understand them. This requires you to be flexible and neuro-affirmative in your approach where the relationship with the young people comes first and you prioritise pastoral care.

Skills and Qualifications
Successful candidates are likely to demonstrate:
- They have successfully supported neurodivergent students in a teaching role
- Resourcefulness, resilience and a growth mindset
- An ability to plan personalised learning
- Experience as a form tutor
It is also preferable for candidates to have experience:
- of teaching in a SEND provision or working collaboratively with a SENDCO
- in pastoral support to students with high anxiety
- working with students aged 11-16
Candidates must:
- have QTS and able to teach GCSE Mathematics
- have a passion to work in SEND and willingness to keep learning
- be outstanding in their pastoral and safeguarding practice
- believe in an integrated therapeutic approach
- be committed to becoming a neuro-informed and neuro-affirmative practitioner
- have the empathy and resilience to work with young people who may experience high anxiety and may have self-harming behaviours, ARFID and disordered eating, and a range of mental health difficulties.
