You'll be joining a supportive payroll function that works closely with both internal colleagues and external clients, ensuring smooth and compliant payroll operations for a wide range of businesses across multiple sectors.

As a Part-Time Payroll Specialist, you'll be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll for a varied portfolio of clients. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, autonomy, and client interaction, while still working in a collaborative, team-focused environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Processing multiple client payrolls accurately and on time (weekly, fortnightly, and monthly)
  • Handling all statutory payments including SMP, SPP, SSP, and SAP
  • Managing PAYE, NIC, pensions, and year-end submissions (P60s, P45s, P11Ds, etc.)
  • Liaising with HMRC and pension providers
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships, providing clear payroll advice and support
  • Supporting with system updates, process improvements, and compliance reviews
  • Assisting colleagues with payroll queries and ensuring best practice across the team

You're a confident and experienced payroll professional who enjoys working with a mix of clients and thrives in a collaborative environment. You take pride in accuracy, communication, and maintaining great relationships.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Previous experience in a bureau or multi-client payroll environment
  • Sound knowledge of UK payroll legislation and compliance
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills
  • Experience using payroll software
  • A proactive approach with the ability to manage your own workload
