Senior Legal Assistant (Conveyancing)

Salary: £26k-£28k + great benefit package

Location: Brighton

Hours: Mon - Fri 9am - 5pm

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Legal Assistant to join a well-established and professional law firm in Brighton. This role offers the chance to support a busy legal team, providing essential administrative and legal support while working within a friendly and collaborative environment.

This position would suit a highly organised individual with previous experience within a legal environment, ideally within conveyancing or property-related work, who enjoys working in a fast-paced role where attention to detail and client care are key.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing administrative and secretarial support to fee earners within the department.
  • Audio typing and preparing legal documents using digital dictation.
  • Managing diaries, arranging meetings and supporting day-to-day departmental organisation.
  • Opening and maintaining client files and updating internal case management systems.
  • Supporting client onboarding processes, including AML and compliance checks.
  • Handling incoming calls, emails and correspondence professionally.
  • Using the Land Registry Portal to obtain documents and submit applications.
  • Assisting with completions, arranging payments and preparing invoices.
  • Managing post, scanning documentation and ensuring files are kept up to date.
  • Ensuring deadlines are met and supporting the smooth running of the department.

To apply for this role, you will need the following skills and experience:

  • Previous experience working within a law firm in a Legal Assistant, Legal Secretary or similar role.
  • Experience within conveyancing or property law would be advantageous.
  • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and legal case management systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence liaising with clients.
  • A proactive, positive and professional approach to work.
