You’ll manage water level and flow within our reservoirs and pumping stations to ensure we provide a continuous water supply to the communities we serve. Experience in water treatment processes would be useful but isn’t essential. Ideally, you’ll have experience in process operations or an electrical / mechanical engineering background. You’ll operate, maintain and manage our water production sites by monitoring, optimising and continuously improving water treatment processes. Your attention to details means that data will be correctly recorded and work management systems updated accurately. It’s crucial that you’re an agile team player and confident working alone. We provide a company van as this role involves working at different locations within the Sussex area. Working hours are 37 hours per week (7.00am to 7.00pm, Monday to Friday). After your initial training, you’ll be required to participate in a 1in5 standby rota to respond to incidents out of hours and at weekends. In return, we pay a standby Allowance (c. £2,000 per annum) plus overtime rates.
