Freelance Senior Site Engineer
Bognor Regis, West Sussex
350 - 400 per day (CIS)
Immediate Start Contract Until April 2027
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Site Engineer to join one of the UK's leading 1bn turnover Main Contractors on a 20m new build industrial warehouse development in Bognor Regis.
This is a fantastic long-term freelance opportunity working on a major industrial scheme currently in the groundworks phase, offering the chance to see the project through to completion. You'll play a key role within the site management team, leading engineering activities while ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety and technical compliance are maintained throughout the build.
The Role
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will lead the engineering function on site while providing technical support to the wider construction team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of two Site Engineers.
- Carry out and manage as-built surveys.
- Oversee Quality Assurance processes and documentation.
- Produce and review Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
- Complete material take-offs.
- Provide technical support to the site management team.
- Manage Temporary Works and associated documentation.
- Liaise with the client, architects and structural engineers to resolve design and technical issues.
- Manage permits and underground services on site.
- Ensure works are delivered safely, accurately and in accordance with programme.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Senior Site Engineer on large-scale industrial, commercial or logistics developments.
- Strong background in groundworks, RC frames, infrastructure and steel frame construction.
- Experience leading and mentoring engineering teams.
- Excellent setting out, surveying and QA experience.
- Strong understanding of Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and quality management processes.
- Experience managing Temporary Works.
- Confident liaising with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
- Valid CSCS Card.
- SMSTS or SSSTS.
- First Aid at Work.
- EUSR Category 2 & Genny certification is highly desirable.

Salary range
