(g) If trained outside the United States before January 1, 2008, meets the following requirements: <ul> <li>(1) Was graduated since 1928 from a physical therapy curriculum approved in the country in which the curriculum was located and in which there is a member organization of the World Confederation for Physical Therapy.</li> <li>(2) Meets the requirements for membership in a member organization of the World Confederation for Physical Therapy.</li> </ul> Responsibilities / Essential Functions 1. Provide skilled physical therapy in accordance with the physician's plan of treatment. 2. Assist the physician in the evaluation and assessment of the client's level of functioning by applying appropriate tests and assist in the development and revision of the plan of care. 3. Treat clients to relieve pain, develop and restore function and maintain maximum performance using appropriate physical therapy treatments, modalities and procedures as stated in the physical therapy plan of care. 4. Observe, record, and report the client's reaction to treatment and any changes in the client's condition to the physician, Clinical Manager and Case Manager. 5. Educate client/caregiver and health care team in the phases of physical therapy in which they may assist the client, in the use of prosthetic and orthotic devices, and durable medical equipment, as appropriate. 6. Provide staff in-service education as directed by Clinical Manager. 7. Assess and regularly re-evaluate the needs of the client. Develop, implement and revise the client's plan of care. 8. Initiate diagnostic, preventive and rehabilitative procedures as appropriate to the client's care safety. 9. Assist with plan of care and maintain continuity of and/or multidisciplinary care whenever needed to ensure good coordination of care. 10. Promote coordination of care through interdisciplinary case conferences and communication with physician and field staff. 11. Develop, prepare and maintain individualized client care progress records with accuracy, timeliness and according to agency policy and procedures. 12. Participate in the agency's quality improvement program. 13. Keep abreast of physical trends and knowledge for service provision, documentation and care coordination. 14. Participate in staff meetings, in-service programs and Utilization reviews. 15. Supervise the Physical Therapy Aide at least every 30 days. We are seeking a Veterinary Surgeon, preferably with a surgical bias and love for orthopaedics to join our dedicated, experienced, friendly and supportive team, where patient care is at the core. This well equipped branch has digital radiography, dental radiography, multiparameter anaesthetic monitors, endoscopy and bronchoscopy, full lab equipment, CT and two theatres. The clinic provides a separate cat waiting area as well as separate cat and dog wards, plus an isolation facility. The ideal candidate would have at least 3 years UK experience. You'll be joining a relatively new and restrctured but experienced, warm and supportive team committed to clinical excellence and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Client care <ul> <li>Deliver exceptional care to clients, each and every day.</li> <li>Deal with any client complaints and concerns raised in the clinic.</li> <li>Ensure the client receives updates regarding patient care following any procedure.</li> <li>For any out of hours (OOH) or enhanced care, ensure the client is updated regarding patient care and wellbeing.</li> </ul> Patient care <ul> <li>Carry out any consultations and procedures.</li> <li>Accountable for patient care and monitoring.</li> <li>Responsible for admissions and discharges for procedures (depending on complexity)</li> <li>Ensure patient records are accurate and up to date.</li> <li>Complete a clinical handover and make arrangements for the transfer of any patient requiring OOH or enhanced care.</li> <li>Responsible for prescribing medication and carrying out dispensing checks.</li> <li>All patient care is carried out under the guidance of the vet/lead vet in line with clinical competence.</li> </ul> Standards and Compliance <ul> <li>Accountable for compliance with all regulatory, practice and operational veterinary and nursing standards.</li> <li>Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.</li> <li>Ensure the appropriate regulatory, practice and operational veterinary and nursing standards are implemented in the practice.</li> <li>Accountable for compliance with all regulatory and practice standards and agreed ways of working.</li> </ul> Commercial performance <ul> <li>Prepare accurate estimates and costs for clients and ensure payment is made at the same time as the procedure.</li> <li>Take action to minimise debt and support action plans to address any issues with clients.</li> <li>Maximise capacity through the most effective utilisation of clinical skills.</li> </ul> Communications <ul> <li>Hold engaging clinical meetings with veterinary and nursing teams as required.</li> </ul> Clinical leadership <ul> <li>Support and carry out colleague clinical mentoring/ development as required.</li> <li>Pro actively support and share clinical best practice within and across clinics and the wider Medivet community.</li> <li>To continue to deliver exceptional care to clients the Vet and Lead Vet are responsible for mentoring graduates within the clinic. The Nurse and Head Nurse are responsible for coaching the nursing team.</li> </ul> Clinical administration <ul> <li>Accountable for ensuring lab tests are carried out correctly.</li> <li>Escalate any issues to the Practice Manager as required.</li> </ul> Skills, knowledge and experience <ul> <li>Must be an RCVS registered vet surgeon.</li> <li>Able to demonstrate clinical leadership skills.</li> <li>Implementation of a progressive clinical culture.</li> <li>Able to work as part of a team.</li> <li>Experienced in delivering exceptional clinical care to clients and patients.</li> <li>Supports nurse consults and understands how this contributes to the performance and efficient operation of the clinic.</li> <li>Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of each and every colleague.</li> </ul> Our clinics are run by small teams who need to work together effectively to deliver exceptional care to our clients, patients, and colleagues.
