Aeronautical Engineering LecturerLocation: Shoreham Airport CampusSalary: £35,000 - £48,000 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience)Contract: Full-time, PermanentInspire the Next Generation of Aerospace Engineers We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Aeronautical Engineering Lecturer to join our Engineering department. This is an exciting opportunity for an industry professional or qualified lecturer who is passionate about sharing their knowledge and developing the engineers of tomorrow.You will deliver high-quality teaching across Aeronautical Engineering programmes, combining theoretical knowledge with practical application to prepare learners for careers in the aerospace and aviation industries.Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons in Aeronautical Engineering.
  • Teach learners across Level 3, HNC, HND and/or Higher Education programmes (where applicable).
  • Deliver both classroom-based and practical learning sessions.
  • Assess learner work and provide timely, constructive feedback.
  • Monitor learner progress and provide academic and pastoral support.
  • Develop high-quality learning resources and maintain accurate assessment records.
  • Ensure teaching is aligned with awarding body specifications and industry standards.
  • Promote safe working practices within laboratories and workshop environments.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and continuous quality improvement.
  • Build relationships with aerospace employers to enhance learner employability and work-based learning opportunities.

About YouYou will have:

  • A degree or higher qualification in Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • Relevant industry experience within the aerospace or aviation engineering sector.
  • A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed or equivalent) or willingness to achieve one.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to motivate and inspire learners from diverse backgrounds.
  • A commitment to delivering outstanding teaching and learning.

Desirable

  • Experience teaching in a Further Education or Higher Education environment.
  • Knowledge of aircraft structures, propulsion systems, avionics, aerodynamics and maintenance principles.
  • Experience delivering Pearson BTEC, HNC/HND or university-level engineering programmes.
  • Assessor and/or Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) qualifications.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and aerospace quality standards.
