FareShare Sussex & Surrey is a charity project that redistributes surplus food from a busy warehouse in Moulsecoomb, Brighton, to a broad range of different smaller charitable organisations across communities in Sussex and Surrey. Although independently funded, we are part of a national network of regional centres ' Felix' Formerly FareShare UK - working to alleviate food poverty and reduce food waste across the UK. Our support reaches 25,000 people each week.

This Warehouse assistant role involves:

  • Picking stock and labelling orders for deliveries.
  • Sorting food and restocking shelves.
  • Loading and unloading the van/deliveries.
  • Lifting (no more than 10KGs).
  • Recording van temperatures and taking signatures on deliveries.
  • Providing great customer service to our member organisations.
  • Representing FareShare Sussex & Surrey out in the community.

Skills

This role requires:

  • Volunteers to be 25 or over
  • Punctuality and good time-keeping skills
  • A commitment of one shift per week for a minimum of 3 months
  • Good people skills
  • Ability to work well in a team.
